Epic Games has just teased the return of the Shockwave Hammer, which should be perfect for squashing bugs. Elsewhere, there's Gorillaz-themed skins and songs to check out in Fortnite Festival, as well as the Dino Megazord skin later this month (September 13). Hopefully, we'll also get some more info on the Halloween update that's expected in October.
Fortnite Chapter 6 is finally here, continuing with Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 which has switched up the map once again. There's new weapons to try out, a bug-themed Battle Pass, as well as updates centered around the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.
Given that a new season just launched, it'll be a little while before we hear more on Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 5. We do know when it's set to launch, however, and that there will be a map refresh, as well as a new Battle Pass.
It's frequent updates like these that make Fortnite one of the best battle royale games around. Last season concluded August 8, before Chapter 6 Season 4 went live across the world.
Here's everything you need to know about the process of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 5 launching, when the next season starts, and what to expect from Fortnite in the future. Also, the latest on what's been revealed about Dino Megazord, and other new Battle Pass skins.
When does the current season of Fortnite end?
Fortnite Shock 'N Awesome will end on November 1, 2025. So far, no details have been shared on specific timings, though the in-game Battle Pass menu does count down to the update. This is when downtime is set to trigger:
- East Coast (US): November 1 at 1:30AM ET
- West Coast (US): October 31 at 10:30AM PT
- United Kingdom: November 1 at 6:30AM BST
- Central Europe: November 1 at 7:30AM CEST
- Australia (Sydney): November 1 at 3:30PM AEST
- Japan (Tokyo): November 1 at 2:30PM JST
When is the next season of Fortnite?
The next season of Fortnite will launch following downtime on November 1, 2025. Hopefully, downtime is only 2-3 hours (based on the average times of Chapter 6 so far), but it's worth noting that things have been known to slip slightly in the past (it was 5 hours for the current season).
What to expect from the next Fortnite season
Epic Games hasn't revealed anything about the next season of Fortnite. We'll likely start to hear more in October. Given that the new season launches around Halloween, I'd expect Fortnitemares content and horror-themed skins. Hopefully, we'll see the return of some spooky game modes too.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 map changes
Here's the full map for Fortnite Shock 'N Awesome. As you can see in the image above, there's still some previous locations remaining from last season. The new locations are OXR HQ, Rangers Ruin, Swarmy Stash, and The Hive. There's bug enemies found at the new POIs, and three new Medallions to earn as well.
